Leila Jarrahi, PhD, is a licensed psychologist with more than fifteen years of psychotherapy experience and a part of Guttman and Pearl Associates for 10 years. She counsels individuals and couples who have relationship and sexual problems, as well as anxiety and depression. She has expertise working with couples who experience strain in their relationship, infidelity, and those who want to enhance their emotional and sexual intimacy. Leila is a co-leader of the Women and Sexuality Group

Leila’s style of therapy is interactive, respectful, and insight-oriented. Many describe Leila as open, supportive, and safe, which makes her easy to talk to about difficulties. She uses her warmth and a sense of humor to teach and guide the growth process with her clients. She believes in empowering her clients with tools to effectively navigate their relationships and make positive changes which will contribute to a happier, more fulfilling life.

With an integrative approach, Leila draws from interpersonal, family systems, and cognitive behavioral methods.  She believes it is important to explore current relationships and significant childhood experiences, which shape one’s struggles in the present.

Leila Jarrahi is certified by Imago Relationships International (IRI) as an Imago Relationship Therapist and provides sex therapy. She received a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. She completed a BA degree in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a MS degree in Counselor Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. In addition to private practice, she has counseled university students at the counseling centers of George Mason University’s Counseling, UNC in Charlotte, Indiana University, Butler University and Texas A&M University.  Leila Jarrahi is a licensed psychologist in Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She is proficient in Farsi.
